I've been using the term Base Level for some time now to describe the irreducible "thing." I guess we all get there in the end. It seems inevitable even if the staunch materialists continue to resist with all their might.

And do we have free will or not? I know it's already been done to death but I may just try sitting still until further notice... let universal mind decide what happens next.... at least until the next toilet break.

Excellent article. Panpsychism, yes. Proto-consciousness, no. IMHO, while the brain is some sort of "interface" between the mind and the body and the brain is within the field of the mind, ALL cognition/thinking and anything similar to it is entirely a function of the mind. The brain cannot think or have an opinion about anything. This would include dreaming when the body is asleep, or the person is "hypnotized" - all done only within the landscape of the mind.

The brain's primary function brain is as a nerve-center "switchboard" communicating various energy impulses along various communication channels within the body needed to facilitate/regulate bodily functions. Sufficient proof is that during an NDE with the body entirely flatlined (on an OR table), the brain isn't being used at all (contrary to the opinions of neuro-scientists and other materialist "scientists.)"
