📨 A Post-Script For and From Robert Monroe:
Adventures in Consciousness
On the day Robert (Bob) Monroe died (March 19, 1995), his friend, colleague, and graduate student of The Monroe Institute Bruce Moen found out via Rebecca their mutual friend at TMI. Moen closed his eyes to connect with the now discarnate Monroe. To his surprise he found Bob with Nancy (Monroe’s wife) who had died more than a year earlier. They were ecstatic to be together once more.
Then Monroe—with all the relish of a kid in a candy store—announced to Moen that he was actually engaged in conversation with six other people simultaneously (so seven including Moen). “I’m actually with each of them…I’m aware of everything about these six other conversations, and, at the same time, I’m here talking with you.”[1]
Moen, as it happened, attended Monroe’s funeral in Virginia remotely, in consciousness. And it turned out that Moen was pretty handy with splitting himself into multiple selves too, describing in "Voyages into the Afterlife" one OB foray in which he split himself off into four separate (but still connected) selves so as to conduct four different conversations with different astral voyagers in his group simultaneously.
From a separate position he was aware of what his four other selves were doing, as well as what the other people were saying to those four other selves in each conversation.[2]
These group adventures with fellow TMI participants yielded a large amount of cross-correspondences between different participants’ experiences when they swapped notes later. In other words, other participants were aware of Moen speaking with them (and what was said), he wasn’t simply imagining it all.
These were shared experiences in consciousness.
